In my Signs & Symbols course, I was tasked with designing a cohesive set of postage stamps for a specific country. Drawing from my Italian heritage and my first semester studying abroad in Florence, I chose to explore pasta as a cultural symbol, an everyday object that carries national identity, tradition, and familiarity.

The series experiments with simplified linework and restrained color palettes to test how minimal visual language can still create depth and dimensionality. By relying on contour, repetition, and subtle variation, I translated recognizable pasta forms into symbolic representations while maintaining consistency across the system.

The project explores how cultural identity can be communicated through simplified visual elements, demonstrating how even minimal line and color can evoke texture, memory, and place.
